Teacher Researcher Knowledge Exchange
The "Teacher Researcher Knowledge Exchange" (TRKE) is designed to foster collaborative educational initiatives and research between teachers and researchers. It aims to improve educational outcomes and increase scientific literacy through direct involvement in ongoing research activities. This project facilitates meaningful exchanges of knowledge, ensuring that both educators and researchers benefit from shared insights and experiences.
Welcome to the Teacher-Researcher Knowledge Exchange (TRKE)
An innovative platform where educators and researchers collaborate to enhance educational outcomes and scientific literacy through direct engagement and knowledge exchange.
Our Vision
To establish a lasting framework where Wyoming's educators and researchers collaboratively develop educational resources that integrate real-world scientific research into classrooms, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of science among students.
Our Mission
TRKE is committed to:
- Building strong partnerships between K-12 educators and university scientists.
- Co-designing educational initiatives that bring real-world science into classrooms.
- Preparing educators to effectively teach and inspire the next generation of scientists.
About TRKE
Initiated under the Wyoming Anticipating Climate Transitions (WY-ACT) project, TRKE offers a cross-disciplinary professional development program that bridges the gap between pedagogical approaches and scientific research. By participating in TRKE, educators gain hands-on experience with current scientific methods and insights, which they can translate into compelling educational experiences for their students.

TRKE Cohort 1 Learning Showcase
Welcome to the TRKE Cohort 1 Learning Showcase, a platform dedicated to highlighting the outstanding presentations delivered by educators and researchers during our annual showcase event. Held on May 10, 2024, this event brought together teachers, non-formal educators, and researchers from across Wyoming to explore how local data and place-based education can be integrated into classrooms to enhance student learning.
Our presenters shared their unique insights on how to bring real-world scientific data into the classroom, whether through climate action projects, data visualization techniques, or hydrology lessons. This year’s topics covered a range of subjects from climate change impacts and water resource management to fostering data literacy in students of all ages.
How to Explore the Showcase
You can browse through the posts to learn more about each of the presentations and the innovative teaching strategies they shared. These posts will automatically populate below, providing a deeper look into the various projects and initiatives presented during the event.
